Retreat!

OK, so this hasn't really been active yet, which I take the blame for. So, in hopes of getting us kick-started, here's the outline of Methodist-y Spiritual Practices from our Young Adult Retreat in January.

John Wesley's Three General Rules:

Do no harm.
Do good.
Stay in love with God.

And how might one stay in love with God, you ask? By the Means of Grace:

Prayer -both personal and corporate.
Committed study of Scripture.
Feasting and Fasting.
Receiving Holy Communion.
Fellowship with other Christians.
Other edifying spiritual practices.
Outreach.
Complete stewardship of our lives.
Seek and working for social justice.

What practices have you found that shape your spiritual growth?

Welcome

Coming out of our Young Adult Winter Retreat, we talked about keeping connected and helping one another as we continue to look for spiritual practices that we find fulfilling.

As part of that endeavor, here's a blog for sharing insights, ideas, challenges, frustrations and cookie recipes. I'm hoping that we can use this as an ongoing conversation about spiritual growth and practices.

Everyone should be able to access the blog and post as well as comment on posts.

If you have ideas about how to make this work well and the sort of info you want posted, please let me know.

And as a final note - if you have another blog or something that you'd like to share with us, please do so.
